Ni hao!
The "twitters" from the bird cage are wonderful! I am so impressed that you were able to access wifi in the hotel and describe the exciting experiences you are already having on very little sleep. Your enthusiasm in the photographs is palpable. Thank you so much for your diligent efforts in making us a part of your journey through the Bird Cage.
Today you are off to the Great Wall and then on to the Dandelion School tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you as climb the steps of the Great Wall one day and then surround yourselves with Lily Yeh's flowers the next.
Fondly,
Ms. Sorensen

Ni hao!
Thank you so much! We've been working very hard to keep everything up to date, despite our nightly exhaustion. We are absolutely having a great time, and we are happy to share that with everyone on the other side of the world! The Great Wall today was great, and we cannot wait to visit the Dandelion School tomorrow! Thank you for your everlasting support.

I am so impressed with your blog. So many teachers have come up to me to express how much they have enjoyed your writing and your photographs. Your description of the Dandelion School really moved me. I can only imagine the thrill of standing before the paintings of flowers and trees that energize the buildings of the school. The students and staff sound remarkable; it seems as if their generosity and kindness have left a deep impression on you. And I am sure that you have inspired them, as well. It is within that space of mutual respect and admiration that you will make important discoveries about culture, language, education, family, friendship. I believe you have already forged a significant friendship with the students; you have begun to mean something to each other. As your teacher, I couldn't have asked for more!

Ms. Sorensen

Thank you so much! We have been working very hard to make sure to keep up with the blog and to post as many photos as we can, despite often having slow internet! I personally found the Dandelion School to be a very inspiring place and I wish with all my heart that someday I can make it back and continue to help teach these wonderful students! They were all so sweet and eager to learn, and the staff was also very welcoming to us! I hope other members of the Darien community continue to follow us on our fantastic adventures and maybe people who want to send the group a message could email either myself or you (Ms. Sorensen) so that one of us could post their messages on the blog. My email is [email protected]. Thank you so much for your support!

I have spoken to Kristen and she has described how exciting the trip has been for all of you. Your enthusiasm is very apparent as well as your ability to reflect thoughtfully on your experiences. I appreciate the way you are able to write about the challenging moments as well as the rewarding ones. You have seen so much...the child acrobats, the animals in the zoo, the water village...and you have listened to difficult stories of a parent's sacrifice for his daughter. No doubt these experiences have changed you. You have less than a week; I know you will savor each day. I can hardly wait to hear all of your stories. Mrs. Pierce sends her love to you; I am going to try to download her e-mail to you (wish me luck!)...I need Nicole Gagne!

Ms. Sorensen
Ni Hao from Cindy Pierce!!!
I was deeply moved by the friendliness shown by everyone at the dandelion School. The care in designing the flowers on the wall and floor and paintings was incredible; thank you so very much for sharing them with us. I was also amazed to see how eager each of you were to learn our language; you all did a great job. How so very proud I am of you and also the students of Dandelion School.
I wish I could reach out over the Pacific Ocean to hug each of you. Unfortunately my arms are not that long so instead I wish you all the best of luck (zhuni hao yun) and love (ai)
Have fun in Shanghai and love (ai) to my friends, too.
Zaijan! Plus much love to each of you, too.
